Mother’s Day was a glorious picture taking extravaganza for me. Hubby and son knew exactly how much fun it would be for me to be out among the flowers with my camera. The next few posts will feature some of the shots I took on Mother’s Day at the Berkshire Botanical Gardens. My plan is to group the photographs into a series of posts by themes and/or colors. For this first post, I decided to focus on just one flower, the one that caught me by surprise and held my attention for the longest time.
The Narcissus Actaea daffodils reminded me of lions’ manes with the shape of the corona’s striking yellow and red centers. The warmth and brightness of the sun helped to illuminate these daffodils in the stone ringed beds surrounding the upper end of the pond. The silkiness of the vibrant delicate white petals and the contrasting yellow and red were nothing less than stunning.
