Find Your Creative Direction

Welcome to my Makerspace & Marketplace

Whether you are a market organizer looking for unique pieces, a neighbor checking out my latest work, or a fellow creator, I am so glad you navigated your way here to my makerspace and marketplace.

At Canvas, Crafts, & Compass, my approach to art-making is heavily influenced by storytelling, nature, symmetry, and color. I seek out the unexpected. I am aways looking to hone my artistic craft, continuing to grow, embracing change, and relishing the joy of serendipity that helps me capture the unpredictable, whimsical, and beauty of the natural world.

In my handmade art and craft works, I love to use a range of textures, botanical elements, and experiment with representation of a theme in different mediums. Much of my photographic focus is capturing images of people, animals, insects, and things that people often ignore. I enjoy using macro and bokeh techniques to bring specific details into focus as well as blur out other parts of the image. I am passionate about engaging with shapes, light, and shadow in my photos. I get up close, aiming to create depth and reveal often overlooked details through my photographic narratives.

For as long as I can remember, I have viewed creativity not just as a hobby, but as a sustaining force—a vital way to process the world, find balance, and cultivate joy. This deep-seated belief is a legacy inspired by my father, Anthony “Tony” D’Adamo,. He taught me to appreciate the beauty in the details and encouraged the quiet curiosity it takes to build things with your own hands.

Because of that foundation, I treat my artistic journey as an open-ended exploration. I don’t limit myself to just one path; instead, I love to constantly engage with and experiment across different mediums. From the fluid grace of watercolors and precision of photography to the tactile joy of fiber arts, upcycled crafting, and mixed media, every piece here is an experiment in what happens when curiosity meets creativity.

Photography

I have been taking pictures for decades from the moment my father put his old Polaroid Land Camera in hands to my current focus on experimenting with my iPhone and teaching phone photography classes. I’m a firm believer that magic is hiding right in plain sight—we just have to pause long enough to notice it. My photography is all about capturing the ‘strange ordinary’: the easily missed details, the quirky shadows, and the quiet, beautiful moments of everyday life. Whether it’s a dreamy close-up of nature, a high-contrast shadow playing on a wall, or a nostalgic snapshot that tells a story, my goal is to bring a little bit of wonder and warmth into your space.

If you like my photos and want to see the wide variety I have for sale as prints or on merchandise (cards, mugs, T-shirts, phone cases, etc.), please go see my Fine Art America site or Pixels site.
